Drone folk, dreamy pysch. Isengrind is French musician Solange Gularte, who is one half of the experimental duo, Natural Snow Buildings. Compositions are generally rustic, twangy, organic, comprised of acoustic guitars, reverb-soaked vocals, recorders, and other stringed instruments. Really gorgeous, atmospheric stuff that is looped and sustained to levels of bliss. For fans of Grouper, Charalambides, Natural Snow Buildings, Roll Over Rover Records, even Tarentel.

1. Peaceful, cooing echoes, melodic, dreamy. (1:46)
2. Lush layers of sitar or something, twanging string instruments, warm. (3:47)
3. Acoustic guitar-led, ominous mid-to-up-tempo, atmospheric layers of fuzz and feedback behind unintelligible melodic wails. (2:15)
*4. Some wah effects at the beginning, dreamy and trippy as hell, a bit more ambient. (4:47)
5. A little murkier, more circular and repetitive guitar structure that is built on with lovely multi-layered vocals and screeching distorted guitars. (4:23)
6. Tribal, repetitive middle Eastern percussion, droning Indian sitar thing. (5:10)
*7. More ambient and distant phaser effects on outerspace hum, some organ seeps in and haunting coos carry the second half of the track. (4:19)
8. No percussion, shimmery tones fade in and out, slow, pretty, (2:15)
9. Fades in slowly to more drone-based, harsher piece; piercing lead instrument, light shaker-type percussion, low-frequency cello drone? (2:43)
10. Acoustic guitar-based composition, looping high pitched, sustained Renaissance Fair instruments, light bells and more eastern drone. (4:03)
11. Recorders, wind sounds, ancient drum sounds (no drum kit anywhere on this record), nice little interlude that will fit in most sets. (1:34)
12. Mellow, dreamy closer. (3:42)
