Slightly edgy/crunchy upbeat power pop. Soulful female vox a la the Pretenders. Just a wee bit retro. A great tight recording. A bunch of 20-somethings who grew up together cutting a cool radio-ready record. Incredibly competent catchy stuff.

try: 1, 5
no FCCs

*1. fastish. circular electric guitar a la the organ beats. driving beat, silky vox. fun, boppy.
2. pompy fun bass & tambourine. see: the cure's 'close to me'. 'come on eileen' chorus. no, really.
3. laid back beat... with powerful vox. shimmery guitar, busy hi-reg bass. loaded vox define the track.
4. speedy, slightly surfy riff, beamy jangle smiths guitar... and then, alt-country. and everything was going so well. "tell me the truth about love." twaang!
*5. jagged mono beat. heavy drums, jar guitar. crunchy. ends with an adorable vamp: "it's the love that beats my heart."
6. bass-drum-heavy grunge/country-tinged moody blues romp. actually, it's uncanny how much this sounds like the moody blues.
