From Colorado comes Boulder Acoustic Society’s fifth release, this 5-song EP. Americana, folky, bluesy, roots music. Great instrumentation of banjo, organ, accordion, ukulele, et al. A strong effort. No FCC’s.
*My Favorites*: All are excellent.
1. (4:41) Mid. Suspenseful start with anticipation building. Starts kicking in but retains the same tempo and beat. Banjo, guitar, drums. Impending lyrics.
2. (4:23) Slow. Piano, vocal intro. Ballad song, heavy lyrics. Cool, mellow organ, marching drum phrases.
3. (4:35) Slow / Mid. Easy rocking tune with banjo, guitar, drums, bass. Guitar solo, swirling organ. Kick drum / vocal solo.
4. (3:48) Slow / Mid. Organ / vocal intro. Nice, dreamy song, picks up tempo near the end.
5. (6:11) Slow. Smokey, dreamy, backing vocals. Very sparse instrumentation. Epic piano phrase toward the end.
