Viper Creek Club – Letters (Self Released)

Emo tinged electro-pop with some techno and hip hop influences. Very well produced. The vocals are mixed behind with enough reverb for this to not be considered Britney Spears though. But don’t let the overproduction tricks scare you off. The drum beats and genre blending going on here are more than worthy of being played on KZSU. Breathy effeminate, male vocals, somber chords, delayed guitar lines and frantic beats. A subtle blend of U2 delays and Postal Service percussion. The band Watchout! There’s Ghosts and Angel & Airwaves are similar but these guys aren’t quite as polished. FCC Clean. 5, 2, 7, 4 doublestuff
1. Poppy, coldplay-like intro track 1:53
2. haunting pop, entrancing 4:20
3. kind of boring. A little too mainstream synthy 4:08
4. upbeat, the beat is sick. Lyrics…lackluster 3:05
5. more groove, catchy single 3:12
6. postal service, relaxed 4:32
7. 80’s new wavy synths, slow, very pretty 3:59
8. too much electronic organ for its own good 3:05
9. catchy guitar, dark 4:17
10. spacey, the percussion is annoying though 4:31
11. techno beats, slowly builds, trancey 7:05
