Fans of Barn Owl, Robert Fripp’s Evening Star, Brian Eno, Richard Pinhas, will like. Lovely layerings of sparse guitar get dense in places for a balm of sound. Dreamlike, hypnotic, on a spectacular slab of colored vinyl. This is a live recording of a performance by Chad Stocker using a borrowed guitar and a “small chain of effects pedals” that was used as backdrop for a visual artist event exactly two years ago today. The two long tracks were originally one piece but had to be split across the vinyl. Recorded to 4 track cassette. A1) very Eno’esque, with pretty long looped tones, fairly brief A2) pretty echoey guitar tones, slow to develop, layer upon themselves in a very Robert Fripp-Evening Star way, hypnotic and dreamy B) soundbed of looping pretty tones, pitchchanged and twisted guitar noodling embellishments color this | ||
