May This Be Love
Bluesy hard rock. Previously unreleased recordings from one of rocks legends. The production has been amped up, and the sound on these tracks is really good. A few of them were recorded live so the vocals sound a bit off. FCC clean, all tracks good, but 3,5,7 may be the more radio friendly.|
1.Upbeat soul. Main vocals and guitar line play a kind of call and response game. Very cool. A more streamlined Hendrix, not a lot of feedback on guitar.
2.Upbeat. The beginnings of psych rock. Quick drum rolls with lots of snare. Guitar line has slight reverb. Vocals are sparse and halting. 6s of silence @ end.
†3.Downtempo. Soft vocals, tribal percussion beat. Guitar echoes, earthy feeling
4. Midtempo. Droning guitar. Vocals are in the lower channels, guitar rises above the music.
†5. Upbeat. Sputters to a start. Bluesy rock. Changes the lyrics from the original.
6. Upbeat. Hendrix classic. Swirling guitar line, heavy feedback. Vocals fade in and out. Most of the track is instrumental. Long, drawn out ending.
†7. Upbeat. Revamped rock versions of classical Christmas carols. A lot of guitar feedback and reverb + marching drums = awesome.
8. Upbeat. Hard rock cover of Beatles classic. Vocals are a little painful, but sheer musicianship makes up for it.
