Blend of rock, gnawa, rai, salsa, chââbi (Arab-pop), reggae, Franco-funk and jazz.
Bass player Youcef Boukella began playing in the Belcourt neighborhood of Algiers in 1985. He was "discovered" by Takfarinas and Cheb Mami and followed his fame to the Barbès neighborhood ("little Algeria") in northern Paris. Vocalist Larbi Dida hails from Sidi bel Abbès in Algeria and arrived in Paris in 1989. They are the heart of ONB which formed in 1995.
