JONQUIL -- ONE HUNDRED SUNS" -- Naturally, i like the title! Upbeat African highlife style, in English. Happy harmonies. Cool percussion. I would play it.
Best Tracks: 4, 2, 5, 6. -- Sunshine January 2011

*** 1) Fighting Smiles -- Highlife-like instruments. Happy harmonies.
**** 2) Get up -- Mysterious opening, picks up rhythms. Cool drums. Upbeat. Nice vocals.
*** 3) It Never Rains -- Slow, thoughtful start. Reflective and pretty. Then upbeat.
***** 4) Pillow Quest -- I like this rhythm -- it has personality. Joyful harmonies. Horns.
**** 5) Compound -- Swirly start. Talking drum! Relaxed tempo, reflective feeling.
**** 6) I Know I Don't Know -- Rainy weather feeling. Crescending instrumental development. Introspective lyrics. Tempo picks up frantically . . . then diminishes. Thumpy drums. More interesting as song progresses. Quality male harmonizing. Horns.
** 7) Sunday Night -- Whiney, . . . It's OK, but not great. Kind of like little kids folk music.
*** 8) Lions (Bonus Track) -- Choral opening with accordion? Oom pah pah.
