John Twells (Xela) and Matt Christensen (Zelienople) making ambient drone babies together. This collaboration has been in the works for a few years now, and the two finally settled on mixing some sessions recorded in Chicago in 2008. Two long-form collages of dark, ethereal, bowed guitars and unidentifiable synths seeping into a beautiful mess of lonely, drugged atmospheres. This is stunningly good - absolutely some of the fullest, richest, expansive drone music that I have heard. A highlight of 2010 for sure. In addition to Xela and Zelienople, for fans of Aidan Baker, Higuma, reverb, On Land Festival, guitars, landscapes.

1. Dreary, hazy whale calls from the bottom of a foggy, frozen Romanian valley; rumbling, whipping windswept tones; evaporating, bellowing washes of foghorn guitars; would have fit right into Twin Peaks. (24:30)
2. Dark, electric chords, ghost-like hovering vocals, dreary, shimmering, depressing layers of humming fuzz. (21:39)
