Pop perfection: Think the band Blanche, Rockateens, Neko Case, Bowie. Pop perfection tempered with a dash of twang here and there, Bowie’s better stuff. Girl-boy duo using vocal counterpoints but nothing syrupy and sick, “fragile” or breathy, indulgent or obvious. Lovely stuff that makes me love to be alive and want to play nothing but great indie rock like this on kzsu. DO NOT MISS THIS IF YOU CLAIM TO LOVE THE INDIE ROCK/POP! ☺
1) upbeat and irresistible, twangy pop melodic with girl backups and slide just the right amount, perfect song
2) girl vocs up front, cute melodic with buzzy synth counterpoint, more pop perfection with great drums, something reminds me of Bowie’s “Lodger” record in here
3) lovely lovely pop
4) glockenspiel and bowed bass with female vocs cant help but come across like a lullaby
5) introspective indie rock feel, dark and pretty duet
6) smarmy burlesque feel with clarinets
7) more burlesquey stuff, with a great voice over about lovelorn lostness, great glockenspiel
8) upbeat train chugging acoustic feel, boy girl singing blends seamlessly into next track (play together!)
9) comes out of previous perfectly, epic soaring pop melodies, god this is good
