Fun, upbeat pop for those nostalgic for the early nineties. A mesh between the Stanford Band and electro-pop. A lot of marching band brass and synth work, this album is all about transmitting high energy. Sometimes awesome, sometimes overkill. The whole album is upbeat, except where otherwise noted. Reminds me of the bright United Colors of Benetton adds.
FCC Clean, Try 1, 3, 8 and 12 for an imaginary jolt of Red Bull Kool Aid.
†1.Feminine vocals, jaunty brass and lots of energy.
2.Sunshiny nineties pop with distorted vocals and plenty of hand clapping.
†3.High-energy vocals, sounds like cheer-leading crossed with video game sound effects. Awesome.
4.Sounds like 60s girl group pop. Sweet, simple vocals and steady synths.
5.Instrumental: This is perfect LSJUMB material. All about the exuberant brass and playground sound effects.
6.Think Best Coast vocals with an upbeat Wavves melody line. Nineties pop.
7.Midtempo. Instrumental: acoustic guitar with Super Mario Bros effects.
†8.Jaunty marching band melody line with feminine rapping vocals and playground sound effects. Could have been on a nineties TV show.
9.Midtempo. Instrumental: Harmonica and some distorted sunshiny synth effects, then a vocal loop starts running at the end.
10.School ground anthem. Less energetic than the rest of the album. Meh.
11.Downtempo instrumental piano melody. Serves as a rest stop for the album.
†12.Indie pop, sounds a bit like Mew. Distorted vocals and background guitars. Could almost pass for surfer pop. Most straightforward track.
13.Midtempo. Sounds nostalgic for school yard days. Larger-than-life brass arrangement leads the track, with female MC ‘rapping’. Fades out ~10s.
