5-song EP, singer / songwriter Riffle pens some great lyrics inside mellow, dreamy pop soundscapes. Acoustic guitar, elec. keys, drums, bass, cello instrumentation. His vocals are in the higher register and almost delivered as a whisper. Reminiscent of Elliot Smith, Nick Drake. Really good stuff, if a bit depressing. No FCC’s.
*My Favorites*: 1, 4, 5.
1. *(4:34) Mid. Acoustic guitar and elec. keyboard predominate this well-written bio-sketch of the speaker. Mellow and accessible. Long fade-out.
2. (4:09) Mid. Moody with keys and cello. Plodding beat. Very chill.
3. (3:44) Slow / Mid. Easy-going beat, mellow. Guitar and keys predominate with really nice cello breaks.
4. *(4:30) Mid. Strummed guitar, dreamy keys. Interesting, mournful lyrics.
5. *(4:10) Mid. Nice guitar work, pronounced drumming. More good lyrics.
