ALL TRACKS FCC CLEAN

Classic Armenian folk dance and love songs, some in the Dikranagerd dialect. Onnik’s son, Ara Dinkjian, on oud, çumbuş, guitars, & keyboards; Arto Tuncboyaciyan on percussion; Harold Hagopian on violin and kanun.

Try 1, 5, 7

Tracks
1. Yardile/Karnan Dzaghig/Anoughig Aghchig medley – Begins with African-sounding percussion, then strings, then Onnik and chorus, driving tempo all the way through – 5:22
2. Yar Ko Parag/Bingeol medley - Slow, romantic, melody. Onnik sings solo - 6:47
3. Azadoutiun – Slow, eerie, instrumental drone with solo voice to 2:05; then beat picks up, & percussion, kanun, oud & çumbuş join in - 5:30
4. Hele Hele/Dikranagerd Halay medley – Spoken word back and forth to :50; then mid- to up tempo, full ensemble, solo voice & solo çumbuş breaks - 8:22
5. Aghmougi – Another spoken word intro, much shorter than 4; then driving percussion and solo voice throughout; full ensemble on breaks - 4:23
6. Hoy Nazan – Can’t hear much until :10, then upbeat Kanun & vocal solo- 4:12
7. Haveh Gorav – Rooster & upbeat intro with full ensemble. Perhaps a rural song (pardon my Armenian). Typical eastern Anatolian sound – 3:56
8. Mer Nvakoghneroun/Weekend Yerk medley – No real sound until :30, so won’t work for the radio - 5:37
9. Groung – Slow bass drone and dramatic, violin-led ensemble to 1:40; then operatic style plaintive vocal comes in - 6:28
