Tamer Ashour, Leyah Nazra (I have a point of view), (Rotana 2011)
ALL TRACKS FCC CLEAN Reviewed by Abu Ramses
Tamer Ashour, an Egyptian composer turned singer, specializes in “sensitive” guy songs with sadder songs and darker themes than most Egyptian pop music. Handsome guy with a round baritone voice. Mostly western instrumentation.

Try 1, 3, 7, 11, 12

Tracks

1. Mafehosh Ghalta (There’s no mistake) - Club mix, typically uniform percussion on the drum machine, but a good dance beat. Theme of the vocal is “trouble in paradise.” – 4:28
2. Ha’dar (I can) – Mid-tempo. Solo and chorus "Yes, I can " – 4:34
3. Ya Ahlan (Welcome) – Slow intro with piano, then picks up to a fast dance beat with tabla drum. The most Middle East-influenced track on the album. Working things out with an ex and starting over. - 4:20
4. Leya Nazra (I have a point of view) – Mid-beat electronica intro; then solo vocal mixed with backup chorus. A breakup song. – 4:01
5. Akher Mo’ablah (Last meeting) – Slow and sad breakup story about what could have happened if everything went his way. - 3:55
6. Nasy Shaklaha (I forget her face) – Slow and mournful with full orchestration and Spanish guitar. Where is this relationship going? – 4:37
7. Howa Ana Bastaslem (I give up) – Playful mid-tempo beat, accordion intro with Middle East tones; solo vocal in dialogue with chorus. – 3:47
8. We Leih Ba‘deen (Why then?) – Mid-tempo. Sweetest melody on the album. Sometimes you need to know when to quit and move on. – 3:33
9. Bait Kebeer (Big house) – Down beat, brass intro. Feeling alone, missing your ex. A song for romantics. - 4:32
10. Mestabye’ – Mashup Middle East electronica intro. Boy approaches a girl he likes. – 4:12
11. Mabthazeesh – Slow, sad, dramatic cello musical intro & bridge. Show- cases his voice; appealing to beloved for mercy. ATTN: Starts at 0:08 – 4:43
