“…FIVE crazed tracks that sound like a 50’s tune on a weeknight bender with the Black Lips” says the one-sheet. Yup, trashy garage from Riverwest Milwaukee (some dive town back there). Surf beats, reverb, urgent feel, great guitar and vocs, nothing gratuitous. Great stuff for fans of Okmoniks, Holly Golightly, all things Estrus Records. These CD-R’s accompanied the 7” vinyl versions from Kind Turkey that I hang my head in shame to admit fell victim to the weird little heat wave we had a week or so ago. 1) spy surf beat, tone, upbeat go go garage 2) surfy beat, lots of “ooh ahh” backup vocs, catchy and fun 3) driving and dancey 4) cool and bit more classic sounding 5) bouncy, brilliant pop | ||
