Omara “Bombino” Moctar belongs to a nomadic tribe of North Africa & has lived through some hard times, including being exiled. He was born in 1980 in Niger (West Africa) & a belongs to the nomadic tribe “Tuareq” known as “Blue Men of The Desert,” who trace their roots to the Berbers of N. Africa. Tuareq in Arabic means rebels.

A gifted singer & guitarist Bombino’s music is influenced by legendary African musicians like Ali Fourka Toure & Tinariwen to western musicians like John Lee Hooker and Jimmy Page. In 2006 he recorded a track with the Rolling Stones Keith Richard.

If you like listening to Ali Fourka Toure or Umou Sangare, you will for sure like this album.

All the numbers in this album are worth a listen. The word mesmerizing is a good way to describe the album. Try 1, 2,6, 7, 9, 10.

1. Mid-tempo, folksy tune.

Very interesting how the guitar, clapping & the words blend it.
