England’s very own Tidal (who snagged spots #2 and #3 on the KZSU Cassettes 2010 countdown) splits a tape with Holographic Arts. Both artists produce cool relaxing ambient pieces which they then take turns remixing. Any of these would make great daydream soundtracks.

1. Underwater fishtank transmissions with a lingering surreal atmosphere. Slow bubblings of synth and Tidal’s signature warm washes of fuzzed out elation.
2. (Tidal remixing Holographic Arts) Tidal strips Holographic Arts’ piece of its rhythm and adds icy washes of drone and subtle morbid textures.
3. (Holographic Arts remixing Tidal) He maintains the sluggish bliss of Tidal while adding some great distorted interplanetary transmissions and a muted DnB line.
4. Smooth ambience that heats up and is enforced by spacey drumbeats and accents of DnB dance music. Warm, fuzzy and nostalgic. One hell of a track.
