JESSICA WILLIAMS TRIO: Freedom Trane Origin, 2011 MODERN JAZZ – This intoxicating tribute album is evenly balanced between John Coltrane tunes and original compositions that reflect his spiritual depths. Williams, who lived in the Bay Area for many years, remains a prolific force on piano, with a dynamic touch and masterful improvisational style. And after a long string of solo CDs, it’s great to hear her in a trio format again! Highly recommended! Note: #4 has weird sound glitches; I can’t tell if it’s the recording or just this CD Try any track.
