Future Dub from Toronto. Who doesn’t love Future Dub? Don’t say “me” or I will mock you… If you’re not familiar with it, it’s just what it sounds like – very dubby, reggae beat, lots of electronics and spaciness.
Tracks tend to end a few seconds shy, or it would be dandy for late night continuous play… Most of the processed voices are utterly unintelligible, but it sure sounds like a clear FCC on track 5.
1. 4:23 ***downtempo slinky wiggle, very groovy and kinda lounge-y, with bits of laughter and odd noises.
2. 4:39 ****happy midtempo skank’n’dub, goes all futuristic and gronchy. Yay!
3. 3:45 ****downtempo with syncopated percussion and voices processed all to heck. Very nitrous oxidatious…
4. 5:59 ***processed sax blats and video game sounds, very slow syncopated skank.
5. 5:19 Sounds like an FCC (“Fuckin”) right in the middle… ***patchwork intro of what sounds like NASA command central in Houston in the 60’s, then more slightly downtempo slinky dub.
6. 5:13 ***rootsy midtempo skank with syndrum, fun percussion bits. Deeply dubby.
7. 4:08 ***jolly bouncy uptempo skank with a bit of a limp. And dragons.
8. 5:05 **crashes and clangs and very slow ponderous one-drop with cute bits of singing of some sort.
9. 5:03 ****fractured intro takes a long time to come together into a very cool swishy midtempo sashay with “chop-chop” and what sounds like ghazal floating in and out. Neet.
10. 4:02 ***very slow crawling robots with scratcher and pretty Indian dancing girls.
