Well produced folk rock + alt-country with a huge cast of musicians. All around very accessible, and delightfully, a little bit “off.” Whistles and loopy feel at times could appeal to the “indie” sensibilities of some. Nostalgic in places, the songs look towards repetition and classic rock deliberately, in order to create something Colin’s “dad would like.” Colin L is one of the dudes from disbanded psych/noise rock duo, USAISAMONSTER. The first disc was written to be three long pieces, with all the short songs collected on the second disc. I prefer the first disc, which is dreamier, driving, almost hypnotic. The second disc is more conventional, upbeat, and poppy. Lots of influences, but I’ll say it’s similar to Slim Cessna, Geraldine Fibbers, Howlin’ Rain, Zappa, maybe even Grateful Dead. Didn’t catch any FCCs. This one’s a little old, but better late than never.

Infinite Ease
*1. Bouncy twang pop about sleep. Pleasant and lush, lengthy instrumental bliss/outro, moves into 2. (7:21)
*2. Electric noisy sequences bounce launches into propulsive country loud jam. (4:12)
*3. Dreamy rattling, guitar instrumental with some flute. (4:07)
4. Is “fornicate” (x6) an FCC? Mellow, alt-country, pretty strings, Lambchop-esque. (3:56)
*5. Slow, dreamy repetitions, lots of electronic and percussion flourishes, blissful vocals. (9:14)
6. Classic rock soloing, mid-tempo loud jangly guitars. (10:14)

Good God
7. Big hooks, vocal melodies, up-tempo country-inspired pop. (3:02)
8. Pleading vocals, southern jaunt. (3:23)
9. Upbeat bluesy, swirly harmonica + vocals. (2:10)
10. Fast country western. (1:25)
*11. Falsetto loopy 7/8 pop; weird. (3:14)
12. Slow organ, epic, loud. (3:44)
*13. Jumbled percussion, repetitive vocal melody develops into indie anthem. (3:38)
*14. Slow-mid, melodic, ballad-esque, lovely, accessible. (4:24)
15. Slow-mid falsetto nostalgic pop, bendy guitar work. (6:02)
16. Lush, yearning Americana blues, fiddle solos. (3:42)
