as reviewed by Mister Esquire. indie pop/dancy neo-folky saddy (note: this a review shelf -cum- a-file shelf -cum- just thrown into a library drawer rescue. I was looking for it in the a-file =not there. one night, I got clever! I thought, 'hey, maybe some idiot just put it in a drawer...' =and that's where it was! It had a pink sticky which read (verbatim): "No review on ZK or on CD case Why in A-File?" not the right way to handle this, but maybe we got lucky: flagrant FCC violations on track #4! from what i've been told, original reviewer did not post review to ZK, and, review got lost from jewel case. I have talked to bill, and have go-ahead to write new review. this is a gorgeous album, and deserves much better than it got from KZSU.)this is sad stuff. dancy, slowed down to soulful indie pop with folk touches. husband/wife duo. this also may be their last album: they made this right after the divorce. FCC WARNING!: 4!='FUCKS'&'FUCKED'...A LOT! RIYL: stars, timbuk 3, and someone(s) I just can't pin down right now, et al. MR. ESQ. SEZ: MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW!! PLAY THESE TRACKS: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. *1.BEST TRACK: it's epic, baby! feel the heartache. mid-tempo to slow dancy pop. *2. dreamy and hyno dancy. 3. soulful='i wants you back, baby'-full. *4. FCC!='FUCKS'&'FUCKED' (A LOT!) great tune. sad, sad disco time. only song where she fronts the vocals. *5. sad, strummy, spare. *6. BEST TRACK II: epic, baby! sad, strings, lush, full wall of cloying sound. (he gonna gets her back into his arms!) *7. poppy, upbeat, dancy. rock disco =kills! *8. trancy dancy. very haunting. 9. sad. the casio is even crying. 10. spare, man and his guitar. most folky. | ||
