Ali Farka Toure’s son stands on his own as a singer/songwriter/guitarist with a great African rock/blues style. Some great guest stars including dad, Dave Matthews, and John Scofield add extra interest. Powerful and stylish from start to finish. *1. Big, driving, and uptempo w/slamming guitar work. 2. Midtempo with a mystero-Sahara feel. Very cool. *3. Great guitars highlight this striding midtempo track. 4. Relaxed w/tight arrangement of guitars and vocal harmonies. *5. Cool head-nodding Afro blues w/great guitar breaks. 6. Stylish midtempo desert blues. 7. Midtempo and lyrical, like Africa meets Mississippi. *8. Upbeat Afro rock w/fast vocals & a wild style.
