Qorser Label: Dobox Recordings Live at KZSU - Big Love Show, July 11, 2011 (Volume 1) Qorser (a.k.a. Charles Johnson) is a local South Bay based techno artist who works with Derek Scott (a.k.a. the Rhythmist) and many other friends of the Big Love Show & Eclecktronik Groove. Qorser appeared live on 7/11/2011 at KZSU and brought out his gear and did a LIVE SOLO improvised techno-houe set. This was an impressive performance (and this is only part 1). The tracks are unnamed (because this is all live techno/house). Really impressive beats - if you like Detroit legends Jeff Mills and Derrick May, you'll like this stuff too - as it is all improvised. Play parts of it or play all. Try: 2-4, 6, 10, 11-12 1) Bouncy tech house w/ swirly synth and some effects 2) Light flittering synth effect, tech-y house beats w/ strong claps 3) Cheery happy synth effect, neat little warbles & claps 4) A glass-y plinky effect being played with & bounced around 5) A bit more stripped down, mostly techno, framework 6) Warm synthesizer play over percussive layers & snappy hi-hats 7) Edgier track - a sinister little analog warble over bouncy beats 8) A simple piano-like loop and some claps over beats & percussion 9) Slightly more moody synth with a chuggy beat 10) Pensive, long synth tones and broken-up beat pattern 11) Straight-up techno with rolling synth effect 12) Hardest-edge track yet, grinding effect with crunchy beats | ||
