Royal Baths are an SF-based stoner psych garage lo-fi band formerly known as the Baths and frequently compared to Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees. Great sound, loud bass and drums, crunchy guitars, buzzy distorted solos, really dark and intense at times with perfectly placed contrasting 60s pop-psych backing vocals.
**1 (4:27) Really great stony trippy anthem, buzzy, loud, ba ba ba ba
*2 (4:02) Pounding rhythm, growling pace, great falsetto backing vox, groovy. Super catchy
*3 (3:54) Blurry, growling, really psychy lyrics. Quiet/loud alternate, loud wins
*4 (5:17) Desert at midnight plod, dark and brooding. Sounds nothing like it but gives the vibe of the Doors' Riders on the Storm without that awful toad line. "I am high and I'm too high to go to bed" late night DJs should be on this
5 (3:23) "Drudgery" a perfect name for the track, dark with a bit of jangle
6 (4:22) Searing guitars and more ba ba ba ba. Cool breakdowns + tambourine
7 (1:59) Bassy, weird story about having a bad heart. Noise last 20 seconds
8 (5:17) Amazing intro/end, surprised it's 8th. Slamming drums, distorted++
9 (3:32) Quiet intro (20 seconds). Slow, brooding, meowing, drugged out lyrics
