STARLICKER: Double Demon Delmark, 2011 POSTMODERN JAZZ – Another killer group from Chicago cornetist Rob Mazurek, this time a trio with star vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz and Tortoise drummer John Herndon. Their music is hard, edgy, and percussive, but with a surreal sheen – it pounds the floor and kicks up clouds of sparkling dust. The grooves are unstoppable, and that’s just a wee bit frightening. Turn it up and let it roll right over you. Wow! All excellent!
