Pomegranate / Ahead and Behind / Drainpipe Records
Ahead and Behind alternates between the somber mood of post-grunge or Alternative rock and the sounds of 70s hard rock. Favorites: 1, 3, 4. RIYL: Staind, Fuel, Soundgarden, Beatles or Jimi Hendrix (somewhat)
1. (4:06)** Dark, angsty and brooding. Ominous but catchy guitar riff throughout. Sounds like “Fade” by Staind. The best song in this album. PLAY THIS.
2. (3:36) Energetic and lively song. Sounds like a mix of indie rock and hard rock, like Hendrix.
3. (3:35)* Tense and mildly aggressive mood. The beginning is okay, but once you get to the bridge it sounds so good, although short. The bridge goes into a slow, soothing guitar riff that sounds like the Beatles or Pink Floyd, but it’s short.
4. (3:32)* Strumming of guitar gives the song a light, bittersweet mood to it.
5. (3:32) Slow Hard rock and blues rock influences. Again the guitar riff makes this sound like Hendrix. Pause at 0:18 seconds from the end but the song resumes again.
6. (3:43) Light mood, somewhat sleepy mood. Sounds like your generic alternative rock song, though.
