“Creole Royalty”
Mary Jane Broussard & Sweet La La
2011

One of the few elder women Louisiana Creole accordionist and fiddle players, Mary Jane Broussard is directly related to two great Louisiana Creole families who have greatly influence Louisiana Creole and Zydeco music (the Ardoins on her father’s side and the Franks on her mother’s side) and later married into the Broussards (another Louisiana Creole musical family). Her uncle, Alphonse “Bois Sec” Ardoin had a great influence on her style of accordion playing and creole fiddler, Carlton Frank influence her style of fiddle playing. She eventually passed this knowledge to her son, Zydeco Musician, T-Broussard.
