Female vocalist evoking a more lightweight, uptempo version of the chanteuse genre. Her voice lacks the smoky/sexy/laziness of many famous chanteuses (e.g., Francoise Hardy, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin), but highlights what a dose of pop can do for the genre. Most songs midtempo with a strong bassline & piano. Voice is a bit thin/lacking character, but songs are still pretty catchy. No FCCs detected. Favorites include: 2, 5.

1. 2:59 Uptempo strong drums, dreamy synths, sunny soprano voice.
2. *3:16 Loud bass, mid tempo, sounds like “trip-pop”, voice slightly sexier.
3. 3:54 Synth keyboards/piano, nice bass, midtempo but sounds like reminiscing quickly through memories on a rainy day.
4. 3:32 Nice bass, cool staccato “ahs” in the beginning and end.
5. *3:04 Piano melody with pop beat. Spoken interlude. Sounds like something Jem would sing, which gives it bonus points in my book.
6. 3:10 Uptempo, cool percussion, background is a variation on a tune that everyone plays in their second piano lesson. Innocent fun, children’s song feel to it.
7. 3:11 Remix of track 5 (“Phantom”). Nothing of note, beat is slightly more “modern” (evocative of poppy rap songs).
