St. Louis alt-country outfit turns in a folkier direction, still with a strong electric strain, showcasing their lyrical talents more intensely than on the last single. Side A "explores the depths of the underground societies along the US-Mexican border from the time of the Chinese immigrants," and side B gets into the head of Roger Casement, a 1900s Irish nationalist executed for treason. Both sides good, FCC clean. -Andy

*1 - (4:31) Rolling mid-tempo folk ballad, great female harmonies and overdriven e. guitar parts, affecting social commentary lyrics, long electric outro
2 - (3:21) Snarling dark shanty with a Nick Cave dramatism
