Album Review

Dark, introverted synthesizer experiments. BNJMN released Plastic World in March, but that did not stop him from putting out another album just now. Black Square is a mix of dark synthesizer pop, introverted melodies and static romances. Constructed with engineering precision, his music is constantly vibrating, breathing life into what could easily have been dull synthesizer masturbation. Perfect for those late night shows.
Try: 6, 4, 7
FCC: Clean

1) 1:07 Soft synths, very melodic.
2) 4:34 Understated. Simple percussion, washed out synths. Retro-futuristic.
3) 3:43 Dark and strange. Dusty organs and melancholic undertones.
4) 4:42 * Chopped, looped vocals. Soft and airy synths. Plenty of reverb, triumphant feel.
5) 4:16 Heavy on the low-end, pulsating with faint guitar strumming. Adds some ambient noise and weird gurgling.
6) 4:20 * Synth stabs, almost kitschy production. Lots of layers and a thumping kick drum for a change(!).
7) 5:01 * Sequencers all the way. Dead simple, yet complex and beautiful. A synth conversation gradually evolving.
8) 1:15 Brief dark interlude. Blade runner style.
9) 3:15 Dark, haunting.
