Discordant rock, experimental tribal electronics. Beyond the relentless tribal beats, emphasis is on the blaring electronics, reeling guitar distortion, and double-tracked and manipulated male vocals in a narrow range. This is close to being hip, but Neptune won’t settle for a straightforward melody. Cool, strange stuff recommended for fans of King Kong Ding Dong, This Heat, and Battles. No FCCs.

1. Lots of dead space and minimal cymbal strikes. (1:30)
*2. Tribal, percussive, rhythmic, reproductive ritual with plenty of ugliness. (8:02)
3. Overblown fuzzbox, pitch-bending acoustics, brighter feel. (5:26)
4. Vocal oddities, chants, and a danceable, complex polyrhythm. (4:31)
5. Slow, quiet, rhythmic back-and-forth to start, buzzing feedback and electronics swirl off the driving rhythm. (7:06)
6. Pitch-warped electronics indulge; slow rhythm. (3:16)
*7. Abstract neo-dinosaur safari finds a heavy plod. (7:48)
8. Neat, chimey percussion. (1:23)
