Bay Area-based band with their debut album (released Oct 2010). It’s peppy, psyche, powerpop, funky, dreamy, jangly. Male and female vocals. Basic instrumentation of guitar, bass, drums, keys. Interesting lyrics, great stuff throughout, any song worth a play. No FCC’s.
*My Favorites*: 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10.
1. *(2:24) MId. Title track. Jangly, funky, peppy pop. Cool vocal delivery, cool lyrics. Hip stuff.
2. (2:52) Mid. Upbeat, big beat, backing vocals, driving.
3. *(1:57) Mid. Handclaps, male vocals, female backing vocals, acoustic guitar, pretty sparse and fun.
4. (3:24) Mid. Plodding beat, male / female harmonizing, guitar soloing near end.
5. *(2:52) Slow / Mid. Guitar intro, dreamy psyche. Ends with trippy phrase. Cool.
6. *(3:18) MId. Upbeat, crunchy guitar, cool bass, harmonizing. Funky jangly pop.
7. (3:51) Mid. Dreamy with echoey vocals. Gets way out there with about 0:50 remaining. Cool lead-in to next song.
8. *(2:14) Mid / Fast. Upbeat, folky hipster tune. Great vocals. Song loosely about God creating man and woman. Great stuff.
9. (1:09) Mid. Upbeat, dreamy, lyrics (5 words) repeated over and over.
10. *(3:10) Mid. Ominous, almost a proggy throwback. Not sure what it is, but it’s cool stuff, with some horns to boot.
11. (3:17) Mid. Really dreamy, but with full sound. Harmonizing.
12. (3:18) Mid. Echoey vocals, sparse, dreamy, great piano.
