Another 7” single released by Jack White on his Third Man records label. This stuff eliminates any doubt that Mr. White is indeed sincere and is a motherfucker (to use Miles Davis’ highest compliment). Third Man, like all great labels, has a “sound”, its being rootsy Americana if not outright Detroit swamp dirt rock. This stuff is its embodiment: a duo of miscreants who pull out all the stops and irreverently sing about disappointing their well intentioned parents, and, concomitantly, the world. Bad assed sludgey borderline stoner-rock stuff. MC5 and Alice Cooper on qualuudes. Don’t miss the Hammond B3 organ solo contributed by Jack White on the first track.
