Manchester producer shrouded in mystery and anonymity churning out some seriously poignant witch house beats. With lots of gentle emotional ambient layering, pained chopped and screwed lyrics, and deep pulses of synth, this is a perfect album for steam tunneling after a breakup, trying to find a bar open at 4AM in the rain, and wondering how your biography is going to read. Holy Other got a lot of early press from XLR8R, who listed this album as the best of 2011—it was definitely up there for me as well (if you care about such things). FCC CLEAN

*1. Woozy gyrating beats with gentle electronic elements, classic house elements and slow-mo lyrics.
2. Looped samples, creepy distorted vocals, chipper percussion.
*3. R&B-tinged vocals with a deep, dark driving gothic beat. James Blake fans will probably dig this.
*4. Airy and open-ended. Blurred-out vocals with midtempo stuttering beats, handclaps and a grey fog of drone. Slow but not sluggish.
*5. A beautiful track which definitely stands out from the rest—melancholic vocals, twinkly percussion, a thudding emotional beat gradually materializing out of the smoky haze.
