Capture (Thunder Dreamer)
Reviewed by: DJ Dissociation, 4.1.18
This is the first album from Evansville, Indiana-based indie rockers Thunder Dreamer. Much of the album seems locked in a hazy, introspective cloud, with few tracks jumping out of this mold. Semi-acoustic intros are set against explosive rock builds to good effect.
Rec: 7,8. FCCs: none

1. (6:34) Long instrumental intro, with 22 seconds of relative silence at the beginning. Standard sad indie sound; guitar, drums, vocals. 2. (4:10) Mid- to up-tempo indie rock; a garage jam sort of sound. Gentle fade-out with 10 seconds of silence at the end. 3. (5:20) Slow intro, electric guitar comes in around 1:10. Standard indie rock with a mildly catchy chord line. 4. (4:38) Somewhat dreamy indie rock, some clear vocal lines shine through here. 5. (5:41) Alternates between sparser gentle indie with a trailing guitar line and full intensity indie rock. 6. (4:13) A winding, more down-tempo track with a classic minor Western chord progression. 7.* (6:19) Gradual build to an indie rock storm, piano supporting. 8.* (5:21) Gentler instrumentation than most of the album, almost an indie folk feel. A late summer sort of track.
