Sam Valdez is Los Angeles-based and has experience in previous bands. She has experience in classical violin. She sounds like a lower-pitched Lana Del Rey, the beats sound a lot like Sufjan Stevens’ stuff, and some of the lyrics are like Melanie Martinez. This album in general sounds a bit dreamy and kind of melancholy. The female vocals are pretty soft, but still come across strongly. Overall would recommend. FCC: (track 4 has word “shitty”).

1.***Shoegaze, medium tempo, fast for this album, strong, driving instruments (guitar, drums)

2. **Medium tempo, kind of melancholy, simple guitar chords, sounds like a sad road trip song, interesting guitar distortion sound

3. Slow tempo, tambourine in intro, banjo in bridge

4. FCC watch out: shitty. Starts off with vinyl record playback sound: do not be alarmed. Guitar + drum steady background, soothing sound. Slow tempo

5. Sounds like a sad country song with the guitar twang in intro, balance between loud and soft vocals, sounds like a bit faster and lower-pitched Lord Huron’s song “The Night We Met”
