Album Review

Electroacoustic improv (one-sheet calls it "electro-noise"). Many of the tracks feature staticky or "thrummy" noise passages. Oddly, even though the only conventional instrument listed is a guitar, the most recognizable tones on the album are reeds. Many of the tracks run the gamut from near-silence to out-and-out noise, though check individual descriptions. All FCC clean.
Track 1 is by far the best; in fact, it justifies the whole album IMO.
Other good tracks: 3, 4, 9

1. Reeds and strings move in and out; mournful melody. Staticky, some speech samples and high pitches. Occasional gongy sound. Excellent.
2. Low-grade mechanical-sounding gentle noise. Gradually becomes harsher, then pure white static at 3:30 in. Silence at 3:53 for ~30 seconds; it remains very quiet.
3. More low-grade noise, this time with clarinet accompaniment. At times the background electronics approach ambience, other times they obtrude. The last two minutes are very quiet.
4. Starts out rhythmically with what sounds like treated mallet percussion of some sort. Very mellow---following the intro even the swooshy noises 4:00 in sound pleasant. That doesn't last—there's about a minute of abrasive electronic noises, which fade out and in for the rest of the track.
5. Quiet whooshy sounds, for five minutes. Or rather: *a* quiet whooshy sound.
6. Busy electronic opening, samples of a dinner conversation over some warm tones. Less busy electronic ending.
7. What sounds like bass harmonics and a modem trying to connect above some warm staticy sounds.
8. A dude talking for 8 seconds.
9. 7 seconds of silence, then some watery echo-y tones and electronic scribbles. Last 11 seconds very quiet.
