The New Pornographers "Twin Cinema" – The pop super group from Canada is back with their 3rd album and they don't disappoint. Wow! Most songs tend to be midtempo with a bit of a bounce. Many songs have a few mood changes/tempo changes. Guitars range from cute acoustic and electric to heavier fuzzed out stuff. Drums are solid as always and of course the vocal layers are fantastic. Fun keyboards and good use of some cute bells and other percussive instruments. Most importantly the music is interesting and at the same time really catchy. Highly recommended for anyone wanting some great pop music. FCC clean as far as I could tell.
My Picks: 1, 4, 6, 10, 12, 13

)Fast midtempo bounce with a bit of a heavier rock feel. Solid driving beat. Male vocals. Great hooks, totally catchy. Nice bridge section in the middle. Nice backup vocals.
)Quieter and slower midtempo. Female vocals with quiet guitar strumming and bells. The rest of the band kicks in to a solid midtempo.
)Fast midtempo walk with some nice piano. Slows tempo a little at times. Male vocals with plenty of male/female backups. Nice! This should get your head bobbing.
)Slow and quiet. Dramatic guitar strumming and drums. Male vocals with female/male backups. Song builds in intensity until finally the whole band comes in with drums, keyboards and full layered vocals. Great chorus with “woo-ooo” vocals which later move to “hey-la”. It just keeps building.
)Fast midtempo. Solid driving beat. Heavier guitars with cute piano accents. A little glam feel. Weird sequel of sorts of the song “Jackie” from Mass Romantic.
)Drum and guitar hits. Odd rhythm. A bit slower and lilting. Layered vocals. A bit heavier than other songs.
)Light guitar strumming and piano. Female vocals (Neko Case I think). Slow with layered vocals at times. Picks up a little at the chorus occasionally (mostly near the end of the song).
)Fades in with feedback. Hits in with a solid fast midtempo beat. Male vocals with a cute guitar hook. Nice male/female layered vocals. Kind of funny chorus that is quite catchy.
)Slower and quiet with guitar strumming and keyboards. Layered male vocals that are very up front. Almost percussive vocals that are a little bell-like. Picks up tempo some.
)Solid midtempo with male vocals (a little high pitched). Some dramatic drum hits and then some pounding driving beats. Nice!
)Solid midtempo with a slight menacing sound. Female and male falsetto vocals. Heavier fuzzy guitars. It has a very staccato feel until near the end when there is chorus of layered “oh-oh” all over.
)Uptempo and driving. Builds with female and male vocals and driving guitars. Hits in finally with a great fun chorus. Nice full sound.
)Cute guitar strumming with male and female vocals. Cute bells added with keyboards. Cute, simple, and lovely. About half through it begins to build fast until a full sound with drums, keyboards, bells, and more are heard. Fades into next song a bit.
)Fades in with keyboards and electric guitar. Nice tom-toms come in with male vocals. Both male and female vocals layered. Builds with keyboards and then drops off. Solid midtempo with horns added. Fun full sound.
