Folk rock, mostly acoustic guitar and string arrangements, this is the band’s fourth studio album. Sounds a lot like Jason Mraz or Jack Johnson. The lyrics leave something to be desired. Try 6, 10. FCC Clean.
1. Mid-tempo, steady, driving pace led by the acoustic guitar, joined near the end by strings and weird percussion sounds.
2. Standard hippie song; acoustic guitar, clapping, ode to nature and humanity.
3. A lot of instrumentation going on here: strings, guitars, percussions jumbled together drowning out the vocals. Not my favorite on the album.
4. Slow, emotional song with lush, layered vocals in the chorus.
5. Slow song with a lullaby quality to it, a lot of cooing going on.
*6. Fresh folk, nice steady pace with an awesome hook in the chorus. Faster paced.
7. Fast finger-picking leads the song, with chanting vocals and a string arrangement halfway through.
8. Slow paced acoustic guitar and vocals, mostly without background music.
9. Acoustic guitars and vocals again. Earthy, organic feel, a bit upbeat.
*10. Starts sounding a bit like an old Americana theme for a bar, and it somehow works for them. Lumbering guitars, cooing vocals, the works.
11. Sounds like a standard rock song. False ending @ 2:38.
12. Sappy love song, sounds like something teenagers would slow-dance to. Very Jason Mraz, with slow vocals and soft guitar strumming in the background.
