singer/songwriter/folk/bluesy/rock
Originally released in 1997 to raise funds for medical bills when Ranier was diagnosed with brain cancer. He died in 1997. Released again as a tribute with four additional tracks. One of the best tribute albums I have heard. Great songs by the artists who were influenced by Ranier. Every track is a gem.
5:35 mid tempo, nice guitar work, Howe Gelb raspy male vocal
5:36 slow to mid, Lucinda Williams
3:48 slow to mid, Jimmy Page, nice e guitar rock
4:00 slow to mid, a wonderful Emmylou Harris vocal.
4:18 slow to mid, John Wesley Harding vocal
2:38 slow, throaty male vocal, Evan Dando
3:41 slow to mid, Mark Olson vocal, e guitar with slight sitar twang
3:48 mid to faster, Grandaddy rock, male vocal, drum kit
3:11 fast slightly distorted rock, Eric Drew Feldman bass, female vocal.
4:16 mid to faster rock, Chuck Prophet guitar & vocals
3:26 mid tempo, Vic & Tina Chesnutt
3:12 slow to mid, Madeleine Peyroux vocal with guitar
5:12 mid to faster, bluesy Ranier guitar
5:25 mid tempo, bluesy rock, Chris Whitley guitar & vocals
 4:14 slow, Jonothan Richman INSTRUMENTAL
4:16 slow, Kris McKay low down bluesy guitar & vocal
