Planetary Assault Systems: Function 4 - Remixes Label: Mote Evolver
Beginning with a Luke Slater original, 3 big-name remixers (Lucy, Marcell Dettman, and Shifted) bring their styles and sensibilities. Without a doubt, the most punishing track is Lucy's second version (track #4), which is just brutal. Another good version is the breakbeat version done by Shifted (track #3). All are excellent but pay attention to those two, they will melt your brain.
1. Trippy and excellent breakbeat. Dark & sinster vocal samples with similarly dark ambience & tweaked out effects flittering back & forth. Great remix by Lucy.
2. Deep & dark tech-house. Sinister ambience, pounding beat, a remix that is kind of mesmerizing.
3. Pounding broken-beat remix, punishing and hard. This one takes no prisoners. Brutally twisted in a very good way.
4. Holy moly. Just when you think it couldn't get any heavier, it does. This additional remix by Lucy is an outstanding warehouse banger. An excellent tribute to Luke Slater's original.
