The Grunt

Artist: Knelt Rote // Album: From Without
This is the first album by Knelt Rote from Portland OR, chock full of awesome noisy fuzzed-out grindcore and some ambient noises as well. These guys are totally unheard of but revered by those who know them. Their later works see them broaden their sound, but this first album from 2009 is a pure face ripper. Side A is one big grind assault. Side B is more diverse. Both sides are great, 20min each, and each track leads nicely into the next. I suggest just playing one whole side! No discernible FCCs (though they are in there). 33RPM
FAVES: B1,2,3,4...BUT IT'S ALL GOOD!
A1.) Noise into grind
A2.) Skullfucking
A3.) Grind
A4.) The most accessible track on side A is still crushing.
B1.) Power Electronics!!! Intro, glides nicely into next song...
B2.) Slow bass with bird noises…sick sounding vomit doom…until some uptempo sludge-grind and ambient noise…glides smoothly into next song...
B3.) More mid-temp doom sludge grind but slows down in second half. Glides into next track...
B4.) Fast sludge grind. The end of this track is your first chance to stop SideB but you better be fucking QUICK! Better yet. just let it play.
B5.) Driving bass into heavy chugging chaos into crescendoing ambient electronic noise
B6.) More grindy sludge
