Solid collaboration between Ty Segall/White Fence (Tim Presley, of Darker My Love and, briefly, The Fall). 70s guitar rock feel to this one. The guitarists/vocalists have some solid chemistry so even if you’re a big fan of one or the other you might be hard pressed to tell who’s doing what here. It’s got the snot, the guitars, the pot, everything you’d expect from either party. Fuzzy, fuzzy, fuzzy, play it all
1 (4:12) Gong-y (the instrument, not the band) opener with drawn out stony 1234 countdown. Stony, slow for a while, big crunching guitars at end
*2 (4:04) Organ riffs, loud, screeching/shrieking guitars, reverbed out vox, background shouts, angry, snotty
3 (2:24) Guitar rock but a little relaxy, stony (lyrics especially), groovy
*4 (FCC fuck, 5:04) First half is slammy drums, harmonizing vox, almost British/Beatles sounding, second half really steps it up, every instrument crashing around an angry sung spoke screamed rant
5 (1:58) Hilarious bawling vox to start, two minutes of riffy fuzz
6 (2:50) Poppy number, acoustic guitars show up, but electric ones kick their asses
***7 (3:31) Put this on repeat for 4 AM drunken screaming in front of the Hendrix mural, bonus points if you’re the only one in the station. Solos and noise and licks and an amazing loud switch to transition into the final minute of jam
8 (4:58) Bass factors in heavily on this end of the night track, time for those who can walk to go home, last 30 seconds is comparatively quiet noisy outro
