Artist: Good Weather For An Airstrike
Album: This is As Good A Place As Any
Genre: Post-Rock, Drone, Soundscape, Ambient
RIYL: Sigur Ros, Stars of the Lid, Eluvium, This Will Destroy You, Mogwai, Caspian, Mono, Hammock
In a personal tributary EP to his new wife Lauren, Hampshire, UK based artist Tom Honey (Good Weather For An Airstrike) has put together this short but warm set of sounds to preserve what is to be a landmark year for the couple. Tom Honey has laid out a sentimental attachment to this EP, so play this if you are in a longing or nostalgic mood. People who really enjoy the first track will think that the album could be better if Tom Honey worked more on the third track and demonstrated more emotions in the last two tracks.
FCC clean
***1. Goodnight, Boogaloo (3.08)- wistful soundscapes fade in; repeated riffs spiced with field recordings, conversations, and spacey effects as background; longing and pensive.
2. Lah (12.47)- Sounds of bird chirping and river flowing fade in; the mood is more sober than the first track like a steady flowing you see on an electrocardiogram; some whirling effects; hypnotic; placid and cathartic
3. Blurred Lights (1.16)- Sounds of river flowing fade in; due to the length of the track, there are not much effects going on, the song just ends with sounds of river flowing.
