Classic jangly power pop in the realm of Rock*A*Teens, Dinosaur Jr, Dom, The Romantics, The Pretenders, Dealership, Lovechild. Vocals in front in early tracks, later tracks seem to get more dreamy and beat oriented (I prefer). Elements of classic power pop from the 70’s, reminiscent of classic 90’s indie rock, but washed with contemporary sentiments. Great stuff. Reminder just how perfect guitar bass and drums can be (just go listen to the Pretenders’ first two albums if you need further reminding).
1) (3:02) FCC (“shit for brains” in chorus) simple melodic mid paced
2) (3:58) upbeat jangly/dreamy noise pop, MBV’ish drum snare rolls
3) (3:32) starts with vocs, minimal guitar and drums, soaring/pretty guitar then beat kicks in for a pleasant song
4) (5:03) FCC mid paced but epic, somber
5) (1:57) mid triplet pounding, rockin feel
6) (4:04) mid paced jangle pop, simple
7) (2:49) upbeat pop, 90’s feel
8) (2:44) folkie indie ballad
9) (4:13) 60’s sultry shoo bop go go rock feel, fun and different, dreamy (best track)
10) (3:40) good driving noise dream pop (play with Dom “jesus”or the last track on that CD)
11) (4:54) FCC (comes late “how you fucked up your life”) waltzing mellow ballady
12) (3:15) 70’s power pop feel, Pretenders ballad feel, epic really
13) (3:29) FCC (quick “shit” in beginning) arpeggios and more complex drums, rhythmically, chorus/flange on guitar lends a Souixsie flare
14) (2:21) upbeat driving indie rock fun
