MELLOW “POST ROCK” INSTRUMENTAL
Core group is electric guitar, keys, bass, drums, electronics; guests add vibraphone & violin on a few tracks. Seems suited to background music at a cocktail party (which isn’t bad).
All instrumental. No FCC issues.
1 * Mid-fast, powerful. Guitar & drums. Hint of vibes makes this a bit jazzy. (7:42)
2 Mid-fast. Short melody on guitar goes on and on. And on and on. Bit of piano. (6:40)
3 Mid-tempo. Short melody on guitar goes on and on. A big dollop of strange synth. (6:32)
4 Mid-slow. Pretty fantasy on keys. Turntable spin-up & down effects are gimmicky. (1:04)
5 * Mid-tempo. Bright chime-like tone on lead guitar. Energetic drumming. (4:08)
6 Mid-fast. Layers of guitar & keys. Out of focus, dreamy feel. (6:39)
7 Slow to start, picks up. Lots of bluesy bending on guitar. Add vibes midway. (7:24)
8 Slow. Too pretty. New Age. Perfect for a scent & candle shop. Not quite awful. (2:34)
9 * Slow. Multiple guitar tracks and the occasional shake of a tambourine. Gathers strength and adds the band later on, but remains the guitarist’s feature piece. (7:42)
