Heavy rockin’ instrumental psych nostalgia from Denmark. If the Nietzsche reference wasn’t cool enough, the breadth of their sound will sweep you off your feet and carry you the distant mushroom forests in your mind, whence you may never return. Channeling everything from Kyuss to Pink Floyd, this goes great alongside contemporaries such as Electric Shepherd, Carlton Melton or classics like Blue Cheer and Black Sabbath. Rock on!—but keep some eye drops handy. No vocals anywhere on this so no FCC concerns.
1. (10:08)**Starts quiet, but soon a bluesy desert-rock 90s groove pummels along in a hazy, doomy jam with hippie flair
2. (6:06) starts with synth weirdness until 0:30, when a rolling 3/4 rhythm gains momentum; volume crawls up from krautrock subtleties to soaring Hendrixian heights
3. (5:06)**Cool, calm and hazy 6/8 wandering brings to mind the first Lumerians record
4. (5:21) Marching, anthemic blues-rock with lyrical wah-wah and muscular bass, sounds like great retro-doom a la Uncle Acid or Witchcraft
5. (7:12))*** Light and summery Syd Barrett-esque frolicking with layers of acoustic guitar and bright melodies, crescendoing into a great electric jam halfway through; balls-to-the-wall Sabbathian riffs conclude.
6. (2:14) light and dreamy acoustic balladry, like those cheesy-folky Budgie tunes without the whining vocals
7. (6:36) 60s psychedelia worship with light organ and bluesy guitar meanderings crescendos into a loud wah-laden rocker
8. (1:38) cool guitar and flute drone, a floating interlude that could easily go on for twenty more minutes and be a Carlton Melton song
9. (11:03) multi-part epic suite of jamming grooves, balanced perfectly between mellow and loud blues-metal
10. (9:19)* sloooooow dreamy faded plod, twinkling guitar arpeggios and soft organ, deep and subtle tribal beats, Daughters of the Sun meets Popol Vuh and David Gilmour
