Damn good fuzzy power garage pop trio from Florida, hooks all over the place, killer basslines, loud, noisy, experimenting guitars, so good you'll want to dance. 9/10 KZSU listeners would guess East Bay or SF. Their last album got no plays in its time on the a-file (!?!??!), but these guys have the sound of a top-10 on the monthly charts. Fully endorsed to everyone who plays anything even vaguely psychy or poppy. No FCCs detected.
RIYL: Terry Malts, Ty Segall, Nobunny, Thee Oh Sees, Hunx and His Punx, Cheap Time
1 (2:57) Snapping drums, Brit-pop influence, jarring guitar, smooth bassline, Beatlesque "ahh"s, fuzzy
2 (2:31) Blurred out garage pop, backing falsetto? vox, hooky
3 (4:16) Pulsating midtempo, buzzy guitar experimentation on top of krauty rhythm, "t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t- youve gotta take it apart" 80s-poppy vox, catchy
4 (3:52) Slower (midtempo), psychy, stony, guitar solo over simple rhythm. Perfect for Sept/Oct in the city. Quiet 10 sec outro
*5 (2:05) Pounding intro, hugely fuzzed out, spacey guitar noodling and "diiiiiiie diiiiiiie diiiiiie" ending
*6 (3:26) Bluesy drum open, stomping psych-rock jam. The arena rock of an ideal world
7 (3:40) Stop-start power pop turns into something heavier, bluesier that reminds me of Pink Floyd's "The Nile Song" ('69)
8 (4:17) Psych-pop ballad, toned down a bit, still rhthymic
**9 (2:53) Beats right along, krautrock style; deep, detached, unintelligible vox; jarring loud guitar chords, a guitar that sounds like a telephone
**10 (3:18) Guit/bass/vox blend perfectly, guitars crash and vox are fuzzed as this one starts out loud and builds even higher; killer climax in the middle (why not?) -> soft spot -> back to loud
11 (4:05) Ballady closer, late 50s/early 60s feel, plus tons of buzz on the chorus
