Solo piano. Stripped down elements of all music distilled into sparse piano playing. Budd is a veteran of ambient minimalism, finding deep textures and layers by using space (like the horror Hitchcock conveyed with a simple shadow). He’s been doing this for decades, collaborating with/mentoring the likes of Brian Eno. Speaking of which, this CD brings to mind the piano of Eno’s Music For Airports. For fans of solitude, peace, tranquility. See also Hans Otte, John Hassel, dare I say George Winston and Windham Hill artists of the early 80’s.
