Cassette only recordings spanning 1979-87. Autoharp street player who was found playing in Washington Square by Eno and appeared on Ambient 3: On Land. Compiled chronologically, theres a lot of variation over the years, even within single tracks, but most, especially the earlier works, involve the autoharp/zither type sound, beautifully treated, along with some tribal rhythms and an almost world feel. But low-fi 4 track tape permeates all. Super cool stuff.

1) (8:55) percussive, almost tribal worldy, with autoharp, funky, can hear the NYC/no wave tribalism of the late 70’s here, but overall spacey with a beautiful use of slow flange/phase shift in its mostly ambience
2) (11:26) basically drop dead gorgeous ambient, ends w/ a voice sample of metaphysical proselytizing
3) (2:22) spacey harp-like ambience
4) (6:26) upbeat pop song, ideas strung together, cheesy by todays context but also really freaky deaky play while stoned stuff, metaphysics appear
5) (9:50) effect laden zither, super trippy and cool, borders on indulgent efx use
6) (6:05) less treated zither, hypnotic and lovely
7) (3:56) 1987 brings higher quality, more polished “songlike” character that evaporates quickly to sound collage
8) (4:06) synthesizer piano, solo jame, almost proggy
